These 8 Lessons of 2020 can change your whole life, avoid missing them!

“2020 has been a wonderful year!”, shouted my friend. Surprised by her statement? Hey there, hope all of you are doing good. I was enjoying a cup of tea with my neighbour cum friend. As there are a few days left for welcoming 2021, we stumbled over a conversation about the year 2020. As you all were astonished by my friend’s statement, so was she when I said the same. Despite numerous negative news, 2020 succeeds in giving us positive and valuable lessons for life. At the end she agreed and said the above statement! Let's quickly dive into the blog and discuss each LESSON deeply.

Take a Real Break:

Before 2020 knocked our life, most of us forgot to maintain a work-life balance. We hardly cherished the beautiful moments of our life with complete affection and joyfulness. Our working schedules always tended to be controlling our brains. Globally, 264 billion people suffer from depression every year. The chaos of the busy schedule and working life succeeded in making us forget the roots of our happiness.

Fortunately, 2020 gave us the chance of relaxing and reminding ourselves of the true goal of our life, happiness! Our minds and body enjoyed the essence of peace and calmness during the year. It was similar to gifting the body in return of  the hard work, of the hustle, of the pain it has undergone throughout life. Enjoying our off-work days without stressing about the next following day schedule, yes! 2020 made it happen.

Life depicts an Exponential Graph:

Another best lesson 2020 gave us was having patience, self belief and trusting on the intitution over data. Most of the industries and professional world faced a major fall during the COVID pandemic. The start of the year overwhelmed us with a large variety of negative news and reports. However, as the year passed, time showed its power, and things started to normalize.

We turned the worst situation into a manageable one. This made us believe that we can overcome a hard situation by maintaining trust in our hard work and energy of the universe. Life always depicts an exponential graph, meaning that after every big deep there is a great height up to which we rise. Hence after every fall, there lies a high rise.

Only Nature is Immortal:

Nature showed humans its immense power and value in 2020. It made all humans believe strongly that if nature is not maintained and nurtured well, it can cause hazardous effects. Millions of people lost their lives and billions suffered from health and mental issues. The pandemic period showed us that only nature is immortal and almighty in the universe. The skies turn blue and fresh without the human-made pollution, the water bodies turned gushing with water  and the ozone layer repaired. On the other hand, humans suffered due to the COVID virus.

Hence it is our first duty to take care of nature and value its importance in our daily life. According to research, nature provides us products worth $14.5 billion for free! Isn’t it mind-blowing and still we take it for granted. This year, 2020 made us realize that nature is the only almighty and immortal.

Horse Vision must be broken:

2020 taught us to change our point of view towards various aspects of our lives. It broke the gender bias taboo statements in many countries like ‘Men cannot do house chores’. Many men enjoyed cooking during the global lockdown period.

On the other hand, it also changed the vision of us towards our government. Many developed countries failed to maintain a powerful shield against the coronavirus. Whereas in some small countries, due to the small population, the virus failed to make a large impact. Also, many other aspects were taken into consideration while evaluating the reason behind the failure of the protection system.

Thirdly, people developed many other interesting skills during the quarantine period. They broke the so-called ‘my field knowledge’ and made an extra effort to learn and enjoy the things they liked doing and wanted to do in their life.

Conquer Technology, if you want to conquer the World:

During the quarantine period, technology helped a lot in maintaining interaction with our outer world. The taboo against the technology that it could only cause harm to human life was broken from the roots and that too on a global level!

The education system, small and large businesses, government sessions, religious gatherings like marriage, and many more events were attended in virtual mode. WFH (Work From Home) gained high popularity during the lockdown period. Surprisingly, India grabs the second rank for using the internet on a global level.

Technology also helped us in maintaining safety measures and social distancing norms during the quarantine period. On the other hand, the medical department was also highly enhanced due to the inculcation of advanced types of machinery for the treatment of patients.

Eliminating Extra Expenditure:

We never realized our non required and extra expenditure rate until we hit the 2020 quarantine period. The year taught us to live with minimum available resources and be satisfied with a simple lifestyle. We also realized that after the reopening of the world, we have already developed a healthy saving habit which seemed impossible for many of us.

Cutting off extra expenditure especially in the young age period is very necessary. This saved capital can be multiplied by investing in different available resources. Additionally, different skills can be learned and developed which not only helps in shaping our personality but also helps us create new opportunities in the future.

Self-Discipline is the key:

During the quarantine period, many people started developing unhealthy habits. These habits promoted lethargy, laziness, and procrastination among the people. However, those who succeeded in managing their daily routine with healthy habits continued growing and glowing. This gives all of us an important life lesson, self-discipline. One should manage his/her morals and beliefs in life. There is no bigger motivation than self-discipline.

Many industries and personalities achieved great heights after the reopening of the world. The only credit goes to their pre-planning during the lockdown period. They successfully maintained their dedication towards their goal which showcased their self-discipline. Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Tesla, and Tencent are the top five companies booming their businesses post-quarantine. The great Mahatma Gandhi said,” The only devils in this world are those running around in our hearts, and that is where all our battles should be fought.”

Value of Relationships:

People started valuing the emotional and mental connection with their loved ones. Lockdown and quarantine period in 2020 also sowed the seeds of gratitude for relationships. Amidst social distancing, mental closure was seen among relations during the pandemic. 2020 gave us one of the most important lessons of valuing and understanding the importance of our loved ones in our life. Humans are social creatures and always need social interaction to live a happy and peaceful life.

This comes to the end of this blog. So according to me the top 8 gifts and lessons given by 2020 to us are:

  • Breaks are necessary for life.

  • After every night, there is a sunrise, have patience!

  • Nature is the only immense power in the entire universe.

  • Changes are highly welcomed in point of view.

  • Technology is the next ruler of the world.

  • Fewer expenses = More happiness.

  • Self-discipline always wins!

  • Real relations must be equally valued as a success.
